What is Bubbling?

Bubbling occurs when paint lifts into small blisters, usually caused by trapped moisture, air, or solvents evaporating from coats applied too thickly. Painting over bubbles without fixing the underlying issue will not work; the trapped vapor must be eliminated and the surface properly prepared before reapplying.
