What is Sealant?

A sealant is a flexible compound applied to gaps, joints, and transitions between building materials to prevent air, water, and moisture infiltration. In painting, sealants are used around window frames, door casings, trim, and where siding meets masonry. Unlike rigid caulk, premium sealants remain flexible through seasonal expansion and contraction cycles, maintaining a weathertight seal that protects the substrate and the paint film above it.
