What is Film Build?

Film build refers to the cumulative thickness of applied paint layers once dry, measured in thousandths of an inch (mils). Achieving correct film build ensures complete color coverage, durability, and surface protection. Coats applied too thin fail prematurely, while excessive thickness can cause sagging, wrinkling, or improper curing.
