What is Vinyl Siding?

Vinyl siding is an exterior cladding made from synthetic polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin. When painting vinyl siding, contractors use specialized acrylic latex paints formulated with heat-reflective pigments. This prevents thermal absorption, which can cause the plastic boards to warp, buckle, or distort when exposed to direct sunlight.
