What is UV Resistance?

UV resistance is a coating's ability to withstand degradation caused by ultraviolet rays from sunlight. Painting contractors select UV-resistant paints—typically formulated with specialized binders and light stabilizers—for exterior surfaces to prevent binder breakdown, chalking, cracking, and premature color fading caused by direct, prolonged exposure to sunlight.
