What is Soffits?

Soffits are the horizontal surfaces on the underside of roof overhangs, eaves, and stairways. On a house exterior, painted soffits protect the structural framing from moisture and pests while contributing to the home's finished appearance. Soffits are typically painted with the same exterior paint used on trim, and they require careful preparation because they are prone to moisture damage, peeling, and mildew growth from condensation and rain splash-back.
